This annual conference convenes games educators, companies and learners to debate, scrutinise and challenge the sector’s agenda for games education and recruitment technology.
The Summit focuses on the pathways into games careers, tracking the big themes in the sector such as diversity, recruitment, remote working, mental health, how educators can provide the skills games companies need and how games companies can support educators.
Each year, around 40 speakers from Further and Higher Education, games companies, recruitment agencies and non-profits share their views and work together in collaborative workshops to try to fix the challenges and uncover the opportunities in games education.

The Games Education Summit provides a valuable platform for studios and educators to discuss the issues facing both areas. We look forward to attending each year as it gives us great insight into the challenges and opportunities we all face in terms of developing, nurturing and supporting the next generation of games industry talent.

Since 2020, the Summit has dedicated a whole day to hear from the recipients of games education. FE students, HE students, apprentices and diverse members of the games sector, mostly young people just starting out on their pathways towards games careers.
The conference has run 3 times, 2 of them virtually. Here you can see the line-ups from 2019, 2020 and 2021, read a selection of coverage from our media partner GamesIndustry.biz and watch sessions from GamesEd20 and GamesEd21 on the BGI’s YouTube channel.
The Games Education Summit is returning in April 2022.
